Dr. GarciaIvan H. Garcia, M.D.
Medical Director
Cataract and Corneal Transplant Specialist
Refractive and Laser Vision Correction

Dr. Garcia, a Medical Director, specializes in cataract, bifocal lens implants, corneal transplant surgery, Lasik, Lasek and surface ablation Laser Vision Correction. Dr. Garcia was the first ophthalmologist in the Baltimore region to perform the surgically difficult procedure of DSLEK, a new technique for transplant patients. He has over 20 years of experience having performed, as of 2006, more than 50,000 surgical procedures.

Dr. Garcia received his M.D. in 1980 from the University of Puerto Rico, and completed his Ophthalmology Resident training at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia where he went on to become Chief Resident. Dr. Garcia received his Fellowship training at the Wilmer Eye Institute of the John’s Hopkins University Hospital in Baltimore, specializing in Cornea and Anterior Segment Surgery. Dr. Garcia has been named “Top Doc” by Baltimore Magazine, received in 1999 the Governor’s Award for his charitable work and community service, was awarded in 2003 a Humanitarian Award from the Hands Across the Americas Foundation, and was recently the recipient of the prestigious Eugene McCrary Award for his contributions to the field of optometry. Among his many humanitarian efforts is Mission Cataract, started in 1996 to provide free cataract surgery, eye exams, and other eye surgeries for those who cannot afford the procedures. He also volunteers regularly at the Hispanic Apostolate providing free eye exams, and ministers to the sick at Keswick Recovery Center.

 

Dr. WasloskiEdward J. Wasloski, O.D.
Clinical Director
Consultative Optometrist

Dr. Edward Wasloski, a Clinical Director and Practice Administrator, of Omni Eye Specialists, received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1984 and graduated in the top 5% of his class. Dr. Wasloski interned at the Bascom-Palmer Eye Institute, University of Miami School of Medicine, and completed the Executive Management Program from the University Of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business.

He has served as the President of the MOA, Co-Chair of the Legal Legislative Committee for the MOA, and President of the Greater Baltimore Optometric Society in 1995-1997. Dr. Wasloski has received numerous awards including the Mel Waxman Award from the MOA in 2005, being Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry in 1985, and the Optometrist of the Year from the MOA in 1999. Currently he serves as Adjunct Clinical Professor at SUNY, PCO, University of Waterloo and ICO.

 

Dr. Cunningham

General Ophthalmology

Dr. Cunningham, a General Ophthalmologist, treats a wide range of ophthalmologic problems from cataracts and glaucoma to diabetic retinopathy. She received her Medical Degree in 2001 from the Georgetown University Medical Center. A native of Baltimore, she did a transitional internship at Harbor Hospital. Her ophthalmology resident training was then completed at Georgetown University. Like Dr. Garcia, she also participates in Mission Cataract.

 

 

Dr. FrankEmily A. Frank, O.D.
Consultative Optometrist

Dr. Frank graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 2003. Upon completeing an internship at the Baltimore Veterans Administration Hospital, Dr. Frank completed a residency at Omni Eye Specialists. She has presented on glaucoma and retinal topics at national optometric conferences and has been published in the peer-reviewed Journal of Optometry. Dr. Frank currently serves on the Maryland Optometric Association's continuing education committee and is a consultative optometrist at Omni Eye Specialists.

Omni Eye Specialists is proud to welcome our new oculoplastics specialist, Brian Lee, M.D., to care for our patients with eyelid, orbital, and lacrimal diseases. He joins our practice after completing a two-year fellowship accredited by the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Michigan, Kellogg Eye Center.

Dr. Lee received his bachelor’s degree in microbiology the University of Maryland, College Park and  his medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He completed his ophthalmology residency training at the Cleveland Clinic Cole Eye Institute. He served as chief resident in ophthalmology from 2008 to 2009.

Dr. Lee has published over a dozen papers in a variety of peer-reviewed journals such as Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, The British Journal of Ophthalmology, Ophthalmic Genetics, and Ophthalmic Surgery Laser and Imaging. He has authored three chapters in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, 3rd ed. and Encyclopedia of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Lee has given lectures on topics involving facial and orbital diseases at many national meetings. As a leader and innovator in ophthalmology, Dr. Lee offers the most advanced and contemporary facial plastic surgery procedures and facial rejuvenation techniques.

 

Christine Beck, ODChristine E. Beck, O.D., M.Se.
Consultative Optometrist

 

Dr. Christine Elizabeth Beck, O.D., M.Sc. has recently joined the OMNI team as a residency trained optometrist with a bright smile and positive attitude.


Dr. Beck completed her Ocular Disease Residency at the Baltimore VA Medical Center. She received her Doctorate of Optometry and a Masters of Science in Vision Sciences from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Beck earned her undergraduate degree in public health sciences at Clemson University where she graduated cum laude and as a Calhoun Honors Scholar.


As a resident with the Baltimore VA Medical Center, Dr. Beck performed eye care on patients with complex eye care needs, which required advanced diagnostic and therapeutic care. She also had training in cornea, glaucoma and retinal care, specialty contact lenses, and low vision. During her residency she gave multiple presentations at various conferences including the Maryland Optometric Association and the American Academy of Optometry.


Dr. Christine Beck has lengthy clinical experience with pediatrics, low vision, primary care, ocular disease and working with handicapped patients, as well as a long work experience. During optometry school she served as a clinical and academic tutor, worked at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Pharmacy, and worked at a private optometric practice, Studio Optics. It is clear that the OMNI team will gain value from Dr. Becks’ optometry skills and positive energy.


Dr. SuanEric P. Suan, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Retina and Vitreous

Eric P. Suan, M.D., F.A.C.S., is founder and President of The Retina Care Center, L.L.C. He provides state of the art medical and surgical treatments for diseases of the retina and vitreous in multiple locations throughout Maryland and Pennsylvania.

His areas of interest and expertise are medical and surgical management of Diabetic Retinopathy, Macular Degeneration, Macular Holes and Puckers, complex Retinal Detachments, and Complications of Ocular Surgery.

Eric P. Suan, M.D., F.A.C.S. is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and American Academy of Ophthalmology.  He is a Clinical Instructor at the University of Maryland and an Adjunct Clinical Professor for the Department of Veterans Affairs, Maryland Health Care Systems.  He is a member of the Medical Staff of Greater Baltimore Medical Center, York Hospital, and Pinnacle Health System.

 

Dr. SpeicherMatthew A. Speicher, M.D.
Retina and Vitreous

Dr. Speicher is an expert in the medical and surgical management of all types of vitreoretinal disease including diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachments, macular disorders, and complications following cataract surgery.  During fellowship, he participated in research studying the benefits of long-acting intraocular steroids for the management of macular degeneration and macular edema.  The initial laboratory and clinical studies regarding this emerging treatment strategy were conducted by the Vitreoretinal Service at Indiana University.  He has authored multiple articles in the peer-reviewed literature and has delivered numerous lectures.

Matthew A. Speicher, M.D. is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.  He is a member of the medical staff of Greater Baltimore Medical Center, and York Hospital, and provides retinal care to patients at various locations throughout Maryland and Pennsylvania.

Newman J. Sund, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Sund specializes in all aspects of vitreoretinal diseases, including retinal detachment, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, macular holes and puckers, and pediatric retinal diseases. Dr. Sund provides retinal care to patients at multiple locations throughout Maryland and Pennsylvania.

Dr. Sund received his medical and graduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania, completed his residency at the Scheie Eye Institute at the University of Pennsylvania, and his fellowship training in vitreoretinal surgery at the William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. Dr. Sund is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and is a member of the medical staff of the Greater Baltimore Medical Center.

FT Front Desk Receptionist
Our practice provides sub-specialty care in Cornea, Retina, Glaucoma, Oculoplastics, Laser Vision Correction, and Optometry. Our offices are located in Windsor Mill (near Randallstown and Woodlawn), Glen Burnie, and Rosedale. This opening is in our Glen Burnie and Windsor Mill offices. Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel between offices if needed.

Primary duties include: Answering telephones, checking in and checking out patients, collecting copays, scheduling/verifying patient appointments in person and by phone, and responding to patient records requests. Some travel between offices required and some Saturdays required.

Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of Customer Service/Telephone Receptionist experience!
  • Ideal candidate will have outstanding telephone, front desk, communication and computer skills
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, multi-task oriented, self-starter, a team player, dedicated and motivated
  • Must be energetic and polished with a positive, professional attitude
  • Should be familiar with HMO's, PPO's, Medicare, BC/BS, and Medicaid
  • Experience with electronic scheduling preferred
  • Prior Experience in Ophthalmology is a plus!
  • High School diploma - some college helpful but not required
