American Heart Association CPR Classes Now Registering

There are two options for those who took AHA BLS CPR course with me two years ago at OMNI Eye Specialists.  Before you make your choice, you should know that the American Heart Association and American Red Cross change the guidelines for BLS CPR October 2010 so what you learned with me has changed somewhat.

Option #1

You can take the refresher course with me at OMNI but instead of the long course you endured last time, you get the abbreviated course with the new guidelines.  You still have the written test and the skills check but the course takes at least 1 – 1 ½ hours less time depending on the class size.  You get the full benefit of instructor coaching with the new guidelines in much less time.

Option #2

You can take the classroom instruction online.  With this option, you purchase part one from the AHA Online for $22.00.  Once you complete part one, you will need to print out the certificate of completion.  After part one is accomplished you can come in to OMNI to have your skills check completed with me.  This can only be done if I am handed the certificate of completion for part one!  The benefit is you only spend 30 minutes or less here at OMNI.  The drawback is, you are expected to come in and do the skills check without any instruction or coaching as there will not be time for that.  So if you do not feel confident that you can perform the new guidelines, please consider the refresher course.  Below is the link to purchase Part 1 from AHA.  Make sure you choose BLS for Healthcare Providers.

The dates are set but if the refresher courses fill, I will either add dates, or change a skills check date to a refresher course if it has not filled.  Since this is the first year with multiple options, we will be flexing as the classes grow.

IF YOU HAVE NEVER TAKEN THE AHA BLS CPR COURSE WITH ME, YOU HAVE TO TAKE THE FULL COURSE (NOT REFRESHER).  IF THERE IS ENOUGH INTEREST IN THE FULL COURSE, I WILL CREATE A DATE TO ACCOMMODATE THOSE IN NEED OF THIS TYPE OF COURSE.

The cost of the  skills check is $50.00 and the refresher course is $60.00. Class times begin at 6:00pm and will run until 9:00pm.
