Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)

OMNI Eye Specialists offers eyelid surgery to patients from Baltimore, White Marsh, Towson, Glen Burnie, and nearby locations.

Your eyes are your window to your soul because they reveal so much about you. Unfortunately, your eyes can also be deceiving if signs of aging have altered them. Instead of looking rested, alert and in-charge, you may appear to be tired, run-down, angry or unhappy due to drooping eyelids or puffy bags under the eyes. If you feel that your eyes make you look older, sad or fatigued, then you may want to consider the benefits of eyelid surgery at OMNI Eye Specialists.

Also called blepharoplasty, eyelid surgery is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures available today. Dr. Brian J. Lee and his staff work diligently with each patient to ensure superior results.

Is Eyelid Surgery Right for Me?

Typical candidates for blepharoplasty are at least age 35, but most of our eyelid surgery patients in Orlando are over age 50. However, some younger patients may also undergo the procedure if they have droopy eyelids or large bags under the eyes. Many blepharoplasty patients are concerned about the following:

  • Excess skin on the upper lid that sags and interferes/could interfere with your vision
  • Excess skin on the upper lid that hides the eyelid skin above the lashes
  • Excessive wrinkling on the upper lid
  • Excess skin and wrinkles on the lower lids
  • Puffiness or bags under the lower lid

How is Eyelid Surgery Performed?

Depending on your features and the recommendation of Dr. Lee, you may have blepharoplasty on either the upper eyelids, lower eyelids or both. Through a strategically placed incision, the upper eyelid procedure involves the removal of excess skin and fatty tissue. Because the incision is placed in the natural contour of the upper eyelid, it is camouflaged upon healing. Lower eyelid procedures also involve the removal of excess skin and fat. The incision may be made just under the lower lash line or inside the lower lid. Usually, the underlying muscle can be tightened.

What is the Recovery Process for Eyelid Surgery?

Only minimal discomfort is typically associated with a blepharoplasty. After your procedure, some bruising and swelling is expected for the first 10 days or so. Make-up can usually cover bruising adequately by the end of the first week. Most of our eyelid surgery patients in Orlando return to work in 10 days and full activities at three weeks. Scars are nearly invisible as they blend into the natural lines around your eyes.

What are OMNI Eye Specialists Surgery Costs?

Eyelid surgery costs in Baltimore depend heavily on whether you have the upper or lower eyelids done or both. Dr. Lee and his staff will be happy to discuss Baltimore blepharoplasty prices during your preliminary consultation.
