OMNI Eye Specialists Among First To Offer New Multifocal IOLs To Patients Baltimore, Maryland – OMNI Eye Specialists is proud to be one of only two ophthalmology practices in the Baltimore area, and among the first in the country to offer a newly FDA-approved intraocular lens (IOL) for cataract patients. The lens is designed to provide patients high-quality near and distance vision in a range of light conditions. The new lens unique design gives patients superior near vision and reading speed compared to other presbyopia-correcting IOLs, as well as exceptionally high spectacle independence, with nearly 9 out of 10 patients reporting that they never wear glasses after surgery.
Dulaney Eye Institute will be the first specialized eye surgical center in the Baltimore area to use this new lens. In an exclusive arrangement, Ivan H. Garcia, M.D. is proud to be one of the few hand-selected surgeons in the Baltimore area to offer this new technology. “This is an exciting opportunity for patients and physicians,” says Dr. Garcia. “We now have another lens option that may provide high-quality distance and near vision for our cataract patients, and quite possibly reduce or eliminate their need for glasses,” he says.
